Duration calculator
Paste a list of durations, one per line, and get their sum instantly. The calculator accepts the formats people actually write: clock times like 1:30 or 25:00:45 where the hours can run past 24, unit strings like 90m, 2h, 45s, 1h 30m or the concatenated 1h30m, day-and-hour spans like 2d 4h, decimal values such as 1.5h, and a plain number on its own, which is read as minutes. You can mix formats freely across lines.
The total is shown several ways at once so you can copy whichever you need: as H:MM:SS with the hours unpadded, as a days-hours-minutes breakdown, as decimal hours to two places, as total minutes, and as total seconds. Numbers are formatted for your language, so decimal marks and thousands separators come out right whether you read in English, German or Polish. Turn on "Round to whole minutes" when you don't care about the leftover seconds and want a tidy total.
Prefix any line with a minus sign to subtract it — handy for taking a break off a shift, or a pause out of a recording. A line like -0:30 removes half an hour, and the total can go negative, in which case it is shown with a leading minus. Blank lines are ignored, and if a line can't be read the tool tells you exactly which line number and what it said, so you can fix it and re-run.
This is the tool for adding up timesheets, video or podcast segments, workout intervals, cooking steps and billable time. Everything is calculated in your browser as you type — the durations you paste are never uploaded anywhere.
