EAN-13 and UPC-A barcode generator
Paste the digits of a product number and this tool draws a real, scannable EAN-13, EAN-8 or UPC-A barcode as SVG — the same symbology retail scanners read at checkout. Give it the twelve data digits of an EAN-13 (or eleven for UPC-A, seven for EAN-8) and it computes the missing check digit for you; paste the full code including an existing check digit and it recomputes that digit rather than trusting a typo.
Switch format with the Format option, then adjust module width and bar height to fit a label or packaging mockup, and set the quiet zone — the blank margin scanners need on each side to lock onto the code. Bar and background colors accept any hex value, for print stock or on-brand packaging that isn't plain black on white. Turn on "Treat every line as a separate code" to generate a batch of barcodes at once, one per line, useful for a spreadsheet export of SKUs. The EAN-5 add-on option reads five extra digits after a space on the same line — the small supplemental barcode publishers print beside an ISBN or EAN-13 to encode a book or magazine's price.
UPC-A is generated as an EAN-13 with a leading zero, which is exactly how the two symbologies relate to each other — a UPC-A barcode scans correctly on any EAN-13 reader. Invalid input is rejected with a plain explanation: too few or too many digits for the chosen format, or characters that aren't digits, spaces or dashes.
Everything runs locally in your browser — no product number, SKU or price ever leaves your device. Copy the SVG markup, download it as a file, or move the output back into the input to tweak the code further.
