Excuse generator

Generate a random, ready-to-use excuse for work, school, a meeting or a deadline.

Output

Excuse generator

Need a reason for missing work, skipping class, sitting out a meeting or asking for more time before a deadline? This tool builds one for you from a bank of situations, causes and follow-up consequences, so every result reads like a complete sentence instead of a single canned line. Pick a context and generate as many variants as you want until one fits.

The context option decides which opening line is used — work, school, meeting or deadline each get their own phrasing. Believability controls the flavor of the reason itself: normal keeps things mundane (traffic, a headache, a car that wouldn't start), creative reaches for something more colorful, and absurd throws plausibility out the window entirely. Sentence length adds a follow-up consequence for medium and a closing line for long, and the count field controls how many excuses come out at once. Output language switches the excuse itself between English, Slovak, Czech and German — independent of whatever language you're browsing this page in.

Leave the random seed field empty and every run is different; type anything into it and the same seed always reproduces the same batch, which is useful if you want to share a specific result or come back to it later. The tool composes each excuse by combining pieces at random, so results vary even within one language and context, and the live tally under the output shows how many excuses were generated and their combined character count.

Everything runs locally in your browser — no context, believability level or generated text is ever sent anywhere. Copy the result, download it as a .txt file, or send it to the input of another tool to keep working on it.

FAQ

Can I get the exact same excuse again later?
Yes. Type anything into the random seed field and the same seed always reproduces the same batch of excuses. Leave it blank for a fresh result every time.
What's the difference between the believability levels?
Normal stays mundane and plausible, creative reaches for something more colorful, and absurd is deliberately over the top and obviously not meant to be taken seriously.
Does the output language have to match the site language?
No. The output language option is independent — you can browse the site in one language and generate excuses in English, Slovak, Czech or German regardless.
How does the sentence length option work?
Short gives just the core reason, medium adds a follow-up consequence, and long adds both the consequence and a short closing line.
Is anything I generate here uploaded anywhere?
No. The excuse generator runs entirely in your browser — nothing you generate is sent to a server.
