ffmpeg command builder
ffmpeg is powerful but its flags are easy to forget, and one wrong switch can silently produce the wrong file. This tool builds the command for you: pick an input and output file, a container and codec, and the exact command line appears instantly, ready to paste into a terminal.
Start from a preset — Web MP4 for a browser-friendly file with fast start, WebM for VP9 and Opus, MP3 to pull just the audio track, or Animated GIF for a short clip — or go custom and choose the video codec, constant-quality (CRF) or target bitrate, audio codec and bitrate, resolution with aspect-ratio preservation, and frame rate yourself. Trim a clip with a start time and duration, burn in a subtitle file, strip the audio track entirely, or turn on two-pass encoding when you need a precise file size. Filenames, timestamps and every other field are sanitized before they reach the command, so a stray character can't turn a paste into something unintended.
A few switches round out the output: quiet mode drops ffmpeg's banner and per-frame progress, overwrite controls whether an existing output file is silently replaced or protected, and multi-line formatting spreads the command across several lines joined with backslashes so a long invocation stays readable. Turn on the flag reference to get a plain-language explanation of every switch the command actually uses, printed underneath it.
Everything runs in your browser — the tool only assembles text, it never runs ffmpeg or touches a real file, and nothing about your filenames or settings is sent anywhere. Copy the result, download it as a .txt file, or send it to another tool's input to keep working.
