Fortune cookie generator

Fortune cookie generator

Click Generate and this tool cracks open a fortune cookie for you: a short saying plus a set of lucky numbers, drawn from a built-in collection of over 150 messages spanning wisdom, humor and motivational styles. There is nothing to paste in — pick a category, set how many lucky numbers you want, and a fresh fortune appears.

The Category option narrows the draw to wisdom (quiet, proverb-like lines), humor (playful, tongue-in-cheek one-liners) or motivational (short pushes to keep going), or leave it on All to let any of the three come up. Lucky numbers controls how many numbers the cookie prints, from 1 to 10 — real fortune cookies traditionally print six, which is the default. Turn on "Fortune of the day" to get a fixed result: the same category and lucky numbers for the rest of the calendar day, so a whole team checking the tool together sees the same fortune, and refreshing the page does not change the answer until tomorrow.

Every message is drawn with the Web Crypto API, never a predictable pseudo-random generator, except in day mode, where the draw is deliberately seeded from the date instead so it stays the same all day on purpose. Two draws with the same options in normal mode are extremely unlikely to repeat, and lucky numbers never repeat within a single cookie.

Everything runs locally in your browser — no fortune, category or setting is ever sent anywhere. Copy the result, download it as a .txt file to save your fortune, or clear the panel and generate a new one whenever you like.
