Invoice calculator

Paste one line item per row — name, quantity, unit price and VAT rate, separated by semicolons — and this tool builds the whole invoice: net, VAT and gross for every line, a recap grouped by tax rate, and the total due as both a number and a spelled-out amount. It's built for freelancers and small businesses who need a correct invoice total without opening a spreadsheet.

Turn on "Prices include tax" when the unit prices you typed are gross, and the tool backs out the net and VAT instead of adding them. Each line carries its own VAT rate, so an invoice mixing a 20% service with a 10% reduced-rate item totals correctly in one pass. Add a per-line discount by appending it after the VAT rate — "10%" or a fixed amount both work — or apply one to the whole invoice with the document discount option, which spreads proportionally across every tax rate. Shipping is added at its own VAT rate, and the total can be rounded to a whole currency unit for cash-friendly invoices, with any adjustment shown as its own line.

A line that doesn't match the "name;quantity;price;rate" shape — a header row, a note — passes through untouched and counts as skipped rather than breaking the calculation. Currency and number formatting follow the site's language, and the currency code is yours to set: any ISO 4217 code like USD or GBP works alongside the default EUR. Choose plain text instead of a table when pasting the result into an email.

Everything runs in your browser — line items and totals are never uploaded, so it's safe to use with real client invoices. Copy the result, download it as a .txt file, or send it back into the input to adjust a line and recalculate.

FAQ

What format should each line use?
name;quantity;unit price;VAT rate, one item per line — for example "Coffee;2;3.50;20". Add a fifth field for a per-line discount, either a percentage like "10%" or a fixed amount like "5".
Can an invoice mix several VAT rates?
Yes. Each line has its own rate, and the recap below the item table totals net, VAT and gross separately for every rate that appears.
How does the document discount interact with the tax rates?
A whole-invoice discount is spread proportionally across every VAT-rate group before tax is recalculated, so the recap and the total due stay mathematically consistent.
Why is a line shown unchanged in the output?
It didn't match the name;quantity;price;rate format — usually a header row or a note. It's kept as-is and counted as skipped rather than stopping the calculation.
Is my invoice data uploaded anywhere?
No. The whole calculation runs locally in your browser — line items, prices and totals never leave your device.
