Shoe size converter

Convert shoe sizes between EU, UK, US, Japan and China, with the matching foot length.

Shoe size converter

Paste a shoe size or a foot length and this tool converts it across the sizing systems shoppers actually run into: EU, UK, US, Japanese (JP) and Chinese (CN) sizes, plus the matching foot length in centimeters and inches. It's built for buying shoes from a store or a site that lists sizes in a system you don't normally wear, or for checking a size chart against a foot you've actually measured.

Pick a category first — women's, men's or kids' — since the same EU number corresponds to a different UK and US size in each. Choose which system you're converting from, or switch on "foot length" to start from a measurement in centimeters instead of a size. Half sizes can be turned on or off depending on whether the brand you're buying from stocks them, and the comfort allowance (in millimeters) controls how much extra room is added on top of a bare foot measurement before it's turned into a size — useful when sizing up for thick socks, growing feet, or simply looser fit. Turn on the full table to see a short range of neighboring sizes at once instead of a single result, or turn on list mode to convert several sizes in one pass, one per line.

Foot-length arithmetic follows the standard Paris-point convention used across EU, UK, US and Asian size systems, so results line up with the size charts most retailers publish. Sizing still varies by brand and by last, so treat the output as a close, reliable estimate rather than a guarantee — when in doubt, the foot-length figure is the more dependable number to match against a brand's own chart.

Everything runs locally in your browser: nothing you type is uploaded anywhere. Copy the result, download it as a .txt file, or send it back into the input to convert again with different options.

FAQ

Why do EU, UK and US sizes disagree so much for the same foot?
Each system numbers sizes on its own scale — EU counts in Paris points (2/3 cm steps), while UK and US count in 1/3 inch steps with a different starting point per category. The tool applies the standard offsets between them so one foot length maps consistently to all five systems.
What does the comfort allowance actually change?
It's the extra room added to a bare foot measurement before it's converted into a size — the same allowance shoemakers build into a last. Raising it pushes every system's result up; lowering it (down to 0) shows the size for a snug, exact-length fit.
How accurate is this for buying shoes online?
It's a close approximation based on the standard formulas behind published size charts, not a substitute for a brand's own chart — lasts vary between manufacturers, especially for kids' shoes. When your target foot length is close to a boundary between two sizes, sizing up is usually the safer choice.
What do the JP and CN sizes mean?
Japanese (Mondopoint) sizes are the foot length in centimeters, and Chinese sizes are close to it in millimeters — so JP 26 and CN 260 both describe roughly the same 26 cm foot, just in different units.
Is my input uploaded anywhere?
No. Every conversion runs locally in your browser — the sizes and lengths you enter never leave your device.
