Wordle helper

Paste what you know from your guesses and this tool narrows a built-in word list down to the candidates that still fit. Describe green letters (correct letter, correct position) as a pattern with underscores for the positions you don't know yet, such as "c___e". List yellow letters (in the word, but not at the position you tried) and grey letters (not in the word at all) on their own lines. You can label each line ("green:", "yellow:", "grey:") or just leave them unlabeled in that order — either way works.

The word length option covers the classic 5-letter game as well as the 4, 6 and 7-letter variants some sites offer, so the same tool works whichever board size you're playing. Sort candidates by letter score, which favors words built from common English letters and is a solid strategy for narrowing down guesses fast, or switch to alphabetical order when you'd rather scan the full list yourself. The result limit trims a long candidate list down to a manageable number so you're not scrolling through hundreds of unlikely words.

Repeated letters are handled the way Wordle itself scores them: if a letter is green in one slot and grey in another, the tool understands that as "exactly one copy, and I already know where it goes" rather than ruling the word out entirely. Diacritics, emoji and other non-letter characters are simply ignored when parsing your guesses, so pasting a guess with stray formatting won't produce a wrong or crashed result.

Everything runs locally in your browser — the built-in word list and every letter you type stay on your device, with nothing sent to a server. Copy the results, download them as a .txt file, or clear the input and start a fresh puzzle.

FAQ

How do I enter green, yellow and grey letters?
Use a pattern with underscores for green letters ("c___e" means c is first and e is last), and comma- or space-separated letters for yellow and grey. Label each line ("green:", "yellow:", "grey:") or leave the labels off and use that same order.
What does the letter score sort order mean?
Each word is scored by adding up the frequency of its distinct letters in English. Words built from common letters like E, A, R and T score higher and are shown first — a reasonable default for narrowing down guesses quickly.
Does it support word lengths other than 5?
Yes. The word length option covers 4, 5, 6 and 7-letter boards, matching the classic game and its common variants.
What happens with a letter that is both green and grey?
That happens with repeated letters: green in one slot and grey elsewhere means the word contains exactly that many copies of the letter, no more. The tool applies that rule automatically.
Is my puzzle progress uploaded anywhere?
No. Matching runs entirely in your browser against a built-in word list — nothing you type is sent to a server.
