Choose between the tropical zodiac, the fixed calendar dates most Western horoscopes use, and the sidereal zodiac, which shifts the same signs later by roughly 24 days to account for the slow precession of the stars. A cusp warning flags any date that falls within a chosen number of days of a sign boundary, since someone born right on the edge is sometimes described as "on the cusp" between two signs. Turn on the Chinese zodiac option to add the animal for the birth year alongside the western sign, and switch the date format between YYYY-MM-DD, DD/MM/YYYY and MM/DD/YYYY to match how your list is already written — ISO dates are always accepted no matter which format is selected.
Sign names, elements and planet names can be shown in a different language than the rest of the page through the sign name language option, independent of the site's own language. Switch the output between a plain sentence per date and an aligned table when you are scanning a longer list; an invalid or unreadable line is marked in place rather than stopping the whole batch, and the tally under the output reports how many dates were read and how many needed a second look.
Everything runs locally in your browser. No date is ever sent anywhere — the tool works the same offline as it does online, so it is safe to paste birth dates for other people. FAQ
How are the tropical zodiac date ranges decided?
The tool uses the fixed calendar dates most Western horoscopes and calendars publish (Aries 21 March – 19 April, and so on). The exact astronomical boundary can shift by about a day depending on the year, so treat a date right at the edge as a cusp case.
What does the sidereal zodiac option change?
It shifts every sign's start date about 24 days later, approximating the difference between the fixed tropical calendar and the sidereal zodiac used in Vedic astrology, which tracks the actual position of the constellations.
How is the Chinese zodiac animal calculated?
From the birth year alone, using the standard 12-year cycle. It is an approximation: the real lunar new year boundary falls anywhere between 21 January and 20 February, so a birth date in that window can, in rare cases, belong to the previous year's animal.
Can I check a whole list of birth dates at once?
Yes. Paste one date per line and every line is processed together; a line that cannot be read as a date is marked inline instead of stopping the rest of the list.
Are the dates I paste uploaded anywhere?
