Anchor text distribution analyzer

Paste one link per line in the format anchor text;target URL — optionally add a third field, ;nofollow, to flag a link's rel attribute — and this tool classifies every anchor into exact match, partial match, branded, naked URL or generic, then reports the share each type holds. Use it to audit a backlink profile, review a client's guest-post placements, or check the internal links across your own site before a link-building push goes out.

Set a target keyword to define what counts as an exact match, and a brand name to flag anchors that mention it instead of the keyword. The exact-match warning threshold controls when a group gets flagged as risky — search engines can read a heavy concentration of exact-match anchors as a manipulation signal, so most link builders keep it well under half of their total anchors. Turn on group by target URL to see the distribution per destination page rather than across the whole list, and ignore nofollow links to exclude anchors you've already marked as not passing authority. Choose table or text for how the breakdown is printed.

Rows with no target URL are skipped rather than causing an error, so a stray blank line or a copy-paste artifact won't break the report. Both CRLF and LF line endings work interchangeably, and very large link lists are handled without freezing the tab — the output is capped at a sane size, with a clear message if a list is too large to print in full.

Everything runs locally in your browser; the anchor list and target URLs are never uploaded anywhere. Copy the report, download it as a .txt file, or send the output back into the input to adjust your keyword or brand and check the distribution again.

FAQ

What format should each line use?
Each line must be anchor text;target URL, with an optional third field — ;nofollow — to mark a link so it can be filtered out with the ignore nofollow option.
How does the tool decide what counts as an exact match?
It compares the anchor text to the target keyword you provide, case-insensitively. An anchor that contains the keyword as part of a longer phrase is counted as a partial match instead.
Why does the report flag a group as risky?
When exact-match anchors exceed the warning threshold you set (25% by default) for a target, that concentration is called out because search engines can read it as an attempt to manipulate rankings.
What happens to malformed lines?
A line with no target URL is skipped and does not appear in the counts or cause an error, so you can paste a messy export without cleaning it up first.
Is my link list uploaded anywhere?
No. The analysis runs entirely in your browser, so your anchor text and target URLs never leave your device.
