Business days calculator

Use this tool to count working days between two dates, or find the date that lands a given number of business days before or after a date — exactly what project deadlines, shipping estimates, SLAs and payroll runs need. Switch modes in the options panel: "Difference between dates" counts business days in a range, "Add business days to a date" projects a date forward or backward.

The input box takes dates, one per line. In difference mode the first line is the start date and the second is the end date; in add mode the first line is the only date needed, and the count of business days to add (negative to go backward) is set in the options panel. Any further lines are read as custom holidays — enter each on its own line and it is excluded from the count on top of the regular weekend. Dates can be typed as YYYY-MM-DD, YYYY.MM.DD, DD.MM.YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY.

Weekend days vary by country, so pick the pattern that matches: Saturday + Sunday, Friday + Saturday, Sunday only, or no weekend at all. Toggle whether the start and end date themselves count, and turn on the calendar-days line to see the day count side by side with the business-day count — useful for showing a client the difference between "5 business days" and "7 calendar days."

Everything runs in your browser: dates and holiday lists are never uploaded anywhere, so it is safe to calculate around confidential contract or payroll dates. Copy the result, download it as .txt, or send it to another tool to keep working.

FAQ

How do I enter the dates and any holidays?
One value per line. In difference mode, line one is the start date and line two is the end date; in add mode, line one is the only date. Any lines after that are read as custom holidays.
Which weekend patterns are supported?
Saturday + Sunday, Friday + Saturday, Sunday only, or no weekend at all — pick whichever matches the country or team you are calculating for.
Does the count include the start and end date?
By default, yes, if they fall on a business day. Turn off "Count the start date" or "Count the end date" to exclude either from the total.
Can it add business days instead of finding a difference?
Yes. Switch the mode to "Add business days to a date," enter the starting date, and set how many business days to add — use a negative number to go backward.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser, so your dates and holiday list never leave your device.
