Dividend yield calculator

Paste a list of holdings — one per line as title, shares, purchase price, current price and dividend per share — and this tool builds a full dividend income breakdown: gross and net annual income per holding, yield against today's market price, yield on cost against what you actually paid, and each position's share of your total dividend income.

The payout frequency option annualizes the dividend you enter, whether it's paid monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually. A withholding tax percentage converts gross income into what actually lands in your account after tax at source. Turning on dividend reinvestment adds a forward projection: over the years you set, each year's net dividend buys more shares at the current price, and the expected dividend growth rate compounds on top — so you can see how income and yield on cost grow as payouts rise and get reinvested. Set the currency to match your portfolio, and choose between a compact table with a totals row or a plain-text breakdown.

Lines that don't parse — a wrong field count, a missing price, a negative dividend — are skipped and counted rather than blocking the whole calculation, so a rough paste from a broker statement still produces a result for the good rows. Decimal points and commas are both accepted, so "1 234,50" and "1,234.50" read the same value. The live tally tracks holdings, total annual income and blended portfolio yield as you type.

Everything runs in your browser. Your holdings, prices and dividend figures are never uploaded anywhere, which makes this safe to use with a real portfolio. Copy the result, download it as a .txt file, or send it to another tool's input to keep working with the numbers.

FAQ

What format should each line be in?
title;shares;purchase price;current price;dividend per share — for example "Acme Corp;10;40;50;0.50". The dividend is per payment, not annualized; the payout frequency option does that for you.
What is the difference between yield on cost and current yield?
Current yield is the annual dividend divided by today’s market price. Yield on cost divides the same annual dividend by the price you actually paid, which is usually higher once a holding has grown and its dividend has risen.
How does the reinvestment projection work?
When reinvestment is on, each projected year’s net dividend income buys more shares at the current price, and the dividend itself grows at the rate you set. The result is a projected share count and annual income after the number of years you choose.
What happens to a line that has a typo or a missing field?
It is skipped and counted as a skipped line at the end of the output rather than stopping the whole calculation, so the rest of your holdings still get calculated.
Is my portfolio data uploaded anywhere?
No. Every calculation runs locally in your browser — your holdings, prices and dividend figures never leave your device.
