Numerology calculator

Type a full name, optionally followed by a birth date, and this tool works out four numbers used in name numerology: the expression (or destiny) number from every letter in the name, the soul urge number from its vowels, the personality number from its consonants, and — when a birth date is given — the life path number from the date itself. Each number is shown with the letter values and the reduction steps that led to it, not just the final digit, so the arithmetic is easy to check by hand.

Choose between the Pythagorean system (the common A=1…I=9 grid used by most Western numerology) and the Chaldean system (an older 1–8 assignment with different letter groupings) — the two rarely agree on a name's numbers, so switching is the fastest way to see how much the method matters. Middle names can be included or dropped, accented letters can be folded to their plain Latin equivalent or skipped entirely, and master numbers 11, 22 and 33 can be kept unreduced (the traditional practice) or reduced all the way to a single digit. Turn off "Show calculation steps" for a compact result with just the four numbers, or turn on "Process a list of names" to run every line of the input as its own record — handy for comparing a family or a group at once.

Enter a birth date after the name, separated by a comma, semicolon or pipe, in either YYYY-MM-DD or D.M.YYYY format — for example "Ada Lovelace, 1815-12-10". A name typed without a date still gets its expression, soul urge and personality numbers; the life path section simply notes that no date was given. An unreadable date is flagged the same way, without discarding the rest of the reading.

Everything runs in your browser using plain arithmetic — no name or birth date is ever uploaded or stored anywhere. Copy the result, download it as a .txt file, or send it straight back into the input to try another name or system.

FAQ

What is the difference between the Pythagorean and Chaldean systems?
Pythagorean numerology assigns letters to 1–9 in alphabetical blocks (A, J, S = 1, and so on). Chaldean numerology uses an older 1–8 assignment based on sound, with no letter mapped to 9. The same name can produce different numbers under each system.
What are master numbers?
11, 22 and 33 are traditionally left unreduced instead of being added down to a single digit, since numerology treats them as carrying extra significance. Turn off "Keep master numbers" to reduce them like any other total.
How is the life path number calculated?
The day, month and year of birth are each reduced to a single digit (or a kept master number), then the three results are added together and reduced once more to give the life path number.
How do I enter a birth date?
Add it after the name on the same line, separated by a comma, semicolon or pipe, as YYYY-MM-DD or D.M.YYYY — for example "John Smith, 1990-06-15". Leave it out to get only the name-based numbers.
Is my name or birth date uploaded anywhere?
No. Every calculation runs locally in your browser using plain arithmetic — nothing you type is sent to a server or stored outside your device.
