Output

Tarot card generator

Draw a random tarot spread from a complete 78-card deck: 22 major arcana and 56 minor arcana across Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles. Each draw returns the card's name, whether it landed upright or reversed, and a short built-in meaning for that orientation — no external lookup or app required.

Choose how many cards to pull with the number-of-cards option. One card gives a quick single-card pull for a daily prompt. Three cards lays out the classic past / present / future spread, with each card labeled by its position. Five cards extends that into past, present, challenge, advice and outcome. Turn off "Allow reversed cards" to draw upright-only, which suits beginners still learning the seventy-eight base meanings, or turn on "Major arcana only" to pull exclusively from the twenty-two named cards — The Fool through The World — for a shorter, symbol-heavy deck.

Every draw uses your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator, the same quality of randomness used for passwords, so no two spreads repeat in a predictable pattern. This is a creative and reflective tool, not a fortune-telling service — treat the meanings as writing prompts, journaling starters, a tabletop game aid, or a fun way to learn the standard tarot symbolism, not as advice.

Everything runs locally in your browser. No question, card, or spread you draw is ever sent anywhere. Copy the result, download it as a .txt file to keep a record of a spread, or clear the panel and draw again.

FAQ

Does this use a real 78-card tarot deck?
Yes. The generator draws from all 22 major arcana and all 56 minor arcana cards (Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles), each with its own upright and reversed meaning.
What do the position labels mean in a 3- or 5-card spread?
A 3-card draw is labeled past, present and future. A 5-card draw adds a challenge and advice position before the outcome, so each card in the spread has a clear role.
How does "Allow reversed cards" work?
When it is on, each card has a chance to be drawn reversed, which swaps in its reversed meaning. Turn it off to draw every card upright only.
Can I draw from only the major arcana?
Yes. Turn on "Major arcana only" to restrict the draw to the 22 major arcana cards — The Fool through The World — and skip the numbered suit cards.
Is my reading or any data uploaded anywhere?
No. Every card is drawn and rendered entirely in your browser using its built-in secure random number generator. Nothing is sent to a server or stored anywhere.
