Wi-Fi name generator
Renaming a router is one of those small joys of setting up a home network, and this tool takes the blank-page problem out of it. Pick a category and it generates funny Wi-Fi network names on the spot, drawn from a built-in set of over 200 names: wordplay and puns ("LAN of Milk and Honey", "Wi believe I can Fi"), pop-culture references, cheeky messages aimed at neighbors who might be eyeing your bandwidth, and tech-flavored jokes for the more nerdily inclined.
The category option narrows the pool, or leave it on "All categories" for a mix. Set how many names to generate at once, toggle emoji on to add a small icon to each result, and — if none of the built-in names fit — type a custom word into the last field: it gets dropped into a set of templates ("{word} Wifi", "The {word} Network", "Pretty Fly for a {word}") to build names around whatever you typed, from a pet's name to an inside joke.
Every generated name is checked against the 32-character limit routers actually enforce on an SSID, and any name that runs over it is flagged right in the output, so you are not left guessing whether "The Router Formerly Known As Prince's Router" will actually fit. Names are drawn using your browser's cryptographically secure random source, so refreshing gives a fresh batch every time rather than the same handful in a different order.
Everything runs locally in your browser — nothing about your custom word or your choice of network name is sent anywhere. Copy the result, download it as a .txt file to keep a shortlist, or generate again until one makes you smile.
