Shipping cost calculator

Price a list of shipments against a weight-and-zone rate card, with volumetric weight and surcharges.

Input
Rate card (zone;up to weight;price)

Shipping cost calculator

Paste a rate card and a list of shipments, and this tool prices every shipment in one pass. The rate card is one bracket per line: zone;up to weight;price — "1;5;3.50" means zone 1 costs 3.50 up to 5 kg, and a "*" in the weight field marks an open-ended top bracket. The shipment list goes in the main box, one parcel per line: shipment;zone;weight;dimensions, with the name and the dimensions both optional.

Billable weight is the larger of the actual weight and the volumetric ("dimensional") weight computed from the pasted dimensions (length × width × height ÷ the divisor), so a light but bulky box is charged the way a real carrier would. The divisor is an option, since carriers disagree on it — a common courier value is 5000 for centimetres and kilograms. A fuel surcharge (percent) and an oversize surcharge (a flat amount, once a parcel's longest side passes a threshold you set) add to the matched price, and a minimum price floors the total per shipment.

Switch currency and units (metric kg/cm or imperial lb/in) to match your rate card, and choose a table or a plain-text report. To compare two pricing plans, turn on "Compare two price columns" and add a fourth field to each rate-card line with the second plan's price for the same bracket — the report then shows both totals and the difference per shipment. A shipment whose zone isn't in the rate card, or whose weight beats every bracket for its zone, is skipped and listed at the bottom with the reason.

Everything runs locally in your browser — your rate cards and shipment lists are never uploaded anywhere. Copy the report, download it as a .txt file, or send the output back into the input to adjust surcharges and recalculate.

FAQ

How is the volumetric weight calculated?
Length × width × height, divided by the volumetric divisor option (5000 by default for centimetres and kilograms). The billed weight is whichever is higher: the actual weight or this volumetric weight.
What happens if a shipment's zone or weight doesn't match the rate card?
The shipment is skipped and listed at the bottom of the report with a reason — an unknown zone, or a weight heavier than every bracket defined for that zone — so nothing is silently priced at zero.
How do I compare two rate cards?
Turn on "Compare two price columns" and add a fourth semicolon-separated field to each rate-card line with the second price for that same zone and weight bracket. The report then shows both totals and the difference for every shipment.
Can I use this for a flat-rate or no-dimensions rate card?
Yes. Dimensions are optional — leave the fourth field on a shipment line blank and the volumetric weight is treated as zero, so pricing falls back to the actual weight alone.
Is my rate card or shipment data uploaded anywhere?
No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser — your rate cards and shipment lists never leave your device.
