Emoji translator

Paste a sentence, a caption or a chat message and this tool matches everyday words against a built-in dictionary of more than 400 terms — animals, food, emotions, activities, weather, people and more — and turns them into emoji. It also works the other way round: point it at text that already has emoji in it and it strips them out, leaving plain words behind.

Three modes control what happens to a matched word. "Add emoji after words" keeps the word and appends the matching emoji right after it, so "I have a cat and a dog" becomes "I have a cat 🐱 and a dog 🐶". "Replace words with emoji" swaps the word out entirely. "Remove emoji from text" ignores the dictionary and deletes every emoji character it finds, which is handy for cleaning chat text before it goes into a report or a spreadsheet. Match intensity chooses how eager the matching is: "Strong matches only" sticks to unambiguous nouns like "pizza" or "elephant", while "All matches" also catches mood and color words such as "happy" or "blue" that carry other meanings too. Preserve punctuation and spacing leaves the text exactly as produced; turning it off tidies up the extra spaces a removal can leave behind.

Matching is case-insensitive and diacritics elsewhere in the sentence are left untouched, so "Môj pes miluje pizza" still turns "pizza" into 🍕 without disturbing "Môj" or "pes". Windows and Unix line endings are both handled correctly, and the live tally under the output reports the word count, the match count and the character count as you type.

Everything runs locally in your browser — nothing you paste is uploaded anywhere. Copy the result, download it as a .txt file, or send it straight to another tool's input to keep working on it.

FAQ

Which words get turned into emoji?
A built-in dictionary of over 400 English words across animals, food, emotions, activities, weather and more. Words not in the dictionary are left exactly as they are.
What's the difference between the two match intensities?
"Strong matches only" sticks to unambiguous nouns like "pizza" or "cat". "All matches" also converts everyday mood and color words like "happy" or "blue", which carry other meanings and can occasionally convert a word you didn't mean as an emoji.
Can it remove emoji instead of adding them?
Yes. Switch the mode to "Remove emoji from text" and every emoji character — including flags, skin-tone variants and multi-person sequences — is stripped, leaving the words behind.
Does matching care about uppercase or lowercase?
No. Matching is case-insensitive, and the emoji is added next to (or replaces) the word exactly as it was written.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. The emoji translator runs entirely in your browser — your text is never sent to a server.
