SLA uptime calculator

Paste a service level agreement target and this tool works out exactly how much downtime it allows — per day, week, month, quarter and year. Paste an incident log instead and it works the other way: it adds up the outages, compares them against your target, and reports the actual uptime for the period along with how much error budget is left.

Pick a target with the Target SLA option — the common tiers from 99% to 99.999% are one click away, or choose Custom for any other value. Incidents go one per line, either as a same-day time range like "2026-03-01 14:02 - 14:37" or as a bare number of minutes. Add the word "maintenance" to the end of a line to tag it as planned, and the Count planned maintenance option decides whether that time still counts against your budget. Period length sets how many days the incidents cover, Downtime unit switches the whole report between minutes, hours and days, and Output format switches between a readable report and a comma-separated table you can paste into a spreadsheet.

A time range that crosses midnight is handled automatically, and both comma and dot decimals work for a bare minute count. If a line cannot be parsed, the tool points at its exact line number and text rather than guessing — nothing is silently dropped or misread. Very long incident logs are summed in one pass, so a year of paged alerts calculates as fast as a handful of lines.

Everything runs locally in your browser: incident timestamps and outage details never leave your device, which matters when a log names customers or internal systems. Copy the result, download it as a .txt file, or send it straight into another tool's input to keep working with the numbers.

FAQ

How do I mark an incident as planned maintenance?
Add the word "maintenance" to the end of the line, for example "2026-03-01 14:02 - 14:37 maintenance" or "30 maintenance". Turn on "Count planned maintenance as downtime" if it should still count against the budget.
What incident formats can I paste?
Either a same-day time range like "2026-03-01 14:02 - 14:37" (seconds optional) or a plain number of minutes per line, such as "15" or "7.5". A range that runs past midnight is handled automatically.
What does a negative error budget mean?
It means the counted downtime for the period already exceeds what the target SLA allows. The tool still reports the shortfall in both minutes and percent so you can see by how much.
Do the day, week, month, quarter and year figures use my period length?
No — those five rows always show the allowed downtime for a full day, week, month, quarter and year at your chosen target, so you can compare against any standard reporting period. Period length only affects the actual-uptime comparison below them.
Is my incident data uploaded anywhere?
No. Every calculation runs entirely in your browser — timestamps, durations and any text you paste stay on your device.
