Calories burned calculator

Compare calories burned across activities using a built-in MET table, your weight and workout duration.

Input

Calories burned calculator

Paste a list of activities, one per line, and this tool estimates how many calories each one burns based on your body weight and workout duration. It draws on a built-in table of more than 50 activities and their MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) values, covering walking and running at different paces, cycling, swimming strokes, weight training, yoga, dancing, sports and everyday chores like cleaning or mowing the lawn.

Set your weight in kilograms or pounds and the workout duration in minutes, then list the activities to compare, one per line, such as walking, running or cycling. Each line is matched against the built-in table case-insensitively and forgives extra wording, so you can enter a short name or a fuller one like "running, 6 mph" and get the same result. Every activity uses the same standard formula: MET times weight in kilograms times duration in hours.

When a line isn't recognized, it is marked in the output instead of blocking the rest of the list, so one typo never stops the other entries from calculating. With two or more matched activities, the result also highlights the highest- and lowest-burning ones, which is handy when deciding between a run and a swim for the same half hour.

Everything runs locally in your browser: your weight and activity list are never uploaded anywhere. Copy the comparison, download it as a .txt file, or send the output to another tool to keep working with it. Results are estimates only, not medical advice, since actual calories burned vary with fitness level, body composition and effort.

FAQ

How is the calorie estimate calculated?
Each entry uses the standard formula: MET value × your weight in kilograms × workout duration in hours. MET values come from the built-in activity table.
What activities are included?
More than 50 activities, from walking and running at different paces to cycling, swimming strokes, weight training, sports, yoga and household chores like cleaning or mowing the lawn.
What happens if an activity isn't recognized?
The line is marked as not recognized in the output and the rest of the list still calculates. Try a simpler name like 'running' or 'cycling' instead of a very specific description.
Can I compare several activities at once?
Yes. List one activity per line with the same weight and duration, and the tool calculates calories for each and highlights the highest- and lowest-burning ones.
Is my weight or activity list uploaded anywhere?
No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser — nothing about your weight, workout or activities is sent anywhere.
